About Balanced Flow

Hi, I'm Philippa, Owner and Founder of Balanced Flow Professional Services.

For nearly two decades, I’ve immersed myself in the worlds of finance and administration. I began as an Accounts Assistant and climbed the ladder to Assistant Management Accountant, mastering everything from budgeting and reconciliations to process improvements. But I soon realised I wanted to be where the action happens: tackling the day-to-day operations that keep a business moving.

In 2017, I pivoted into research grant administration and management, applying my financial expertise to new challenges: drafting proposal budgets, ensuring compliance, and reporting on outcomes. My most recent role managing a PhD programme broadened my remit even further. I’ve tackled everything from travel logistics and event planning to customer service to website updates and strategic reporting. Each task sharpened my ability to learn new systems quickly and deliver results under pressure.

I’ve worked across public, private, and third-sector organisations, stepping in when capacity was stretched and nobody knew where to begin. Hitting the ground running and making an immediate impact isn’t a superpower, it’s simply how I operate. That blend of adaptability and precision led me to launch Balanced Flow Professional Services, where I carry forward everything I’ve learned into my own business.

When I was brainstorming names for my business, I scribbled down dozens of options. But nothing felt both professional and true to my belief that business doesn’t have to be a burnout slog. After years of seeing founders burn out under the weight of ‘hustle culture’, the idea of Balanced Flow came to mind and I couldn’t put it down.
